IAN MILLAR WINS $1.5 MILLION CP INTERNATIONAL

Ten-time Olympian Ian Millar of Perth, Ont., added yet another title to his long list of accomplishments by winning the $1.5 million CP International, presented by Rolex, on September 14 to close out the CSIO5* Spruce Meadows “Masters” tournament in Calgary, AB. (read more)

WORK PARTY PLANNED AT OTTER PONDS

Willing muscles and a yearning for fresh air are needed for the next work party at Otter Ponds Demonstration Forest in Mooseland! The work party will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, with a rain date of Sunday, Oct. 12. We’ll meet at 9 am at the Mooseland Community Centre on Mooseland Road and carpool to the forest. (read more)

AGRICULTURE’S GLOBAL SCOPE GROWING

The anticipated 40,000 participants arriving for Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show this week in Woodstock, Ont., couldn’t help but notice how the event increasingly reflects Canadian agriculture’s global scope. Besides showcasing products, farm shows are designed to make sales too, both domestically and globally. With that in mind, new to this year’s show was a welcome area designated specifically for international visitors. Staff set up a lounge for private meeting space between vendors and international attendees, to support business transactions. (read more)

CONGRATULATIONS TO ERICA JACKSON!
Source: NSFA Erica Jackson recently attended the 2014 European Young Breeders School in Belgium as a member for Team Canada. During her weeklong visit, Erica learned about clipping, showmanship, judging, marketing, and classification. In the second day of class, Erica came first in showmanship. Team Canada had Grand Champion, Top Clipper, and fifth, third and first Overall Individual. (read more)
