The United States and 11 other Pacific Rim nations on Monday agreed to the largest regional trade accord in history, a potentially precedent-setting model for global commerce and worker standards that would tie together 40 percent of the world’s economy, from Canada and Chile to Japan and Australia. NEW WOODLOT SERVICES GROUP BEING EXPLORED IN SEVEN WESTERN COUNTIES

The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources is promoting the development of new regional service areas to improve small woodlot owners’ access to forest management services. Recently, several partners have been meeting to develop a business plan for a possible service area in western Nova Scotia. You are invited to learn more about the effort at a series of meetings throughout the seven western counties. The first will be held Thursday, Oct. 8, in Carleton. (read more)

The Atlantic Breeders Crown host committee has announced a panel session has been added to the Atlantic Breeders Crown weekend which will be held October 9 to 11weekend.
At the Atlantic Breeders Crown Banquet, Saturday, October 10, at the Rodd Royalty, Charlottetown, four of the most successful stakes competitors in Atlantic history will share their stories of involvement in racing, and their views on the growth and development of the Atlantic harness racing and breeding industry.
